About Makoto Hoshina
Makoto "SEIJO"Hoshina (1924 to 2018) was a Japanese painter, born in Date-shi, Hokkaido Japan. Makoto decided to pursue painting after retiring from his main occupation in the automotive industry. He had studied at Musashino Art University in Tokyo at age 66. Thereafter, he devoted his passion to painting for more than 20 years, and accomplished amazing achievements. His main subjects is landscapes, flowers, monumental trees, forests and small birds. His focus was SOUL OF NATURE, using representational Painting with ink and natural pigments which are commonly used for Japanese traditional painting. He became adviser of the Modern Japanese Art Association (Kindai Bijutsu) and served from 1990 to 2000.
